“Our POE, Sweet Pea began laying eggs yesterday! They are a pretty sage green. She is laying two weeks earlier than expected. We received her second egg today. We didn‚Äôt expect her to lay so soon so we were pleasantly surprised. She is definitely the leader of the pack (of six, each a different breed as we wanted different color eggs so we would know who‚Äôs egg is who‚Äôs) although she is a week and a half younger than our first two. She is friendly and inquisitive and likes to watch what we are doing in the coop. She is the first to run up when I enter their run while calling to them, carrying the white bucket of dried grubs. She also keeps alert and calls out, squawking loudly to the other hens when a hawk or other perceived danger is about. We love our Sweet Pea!”
“We received "Olive" nearly a year and a half ago as a day old chick from MyPetChicken. Out of the five chicks we received, she was one of the last to start laying (around 27 weeks), but has been a reliable layer of her beautiful olive eggs - usually one every other day (or three to four a week). Personality wise, she isn't the friendliest of the group, but she will squat and allow me to pick her up from time to time. She is the "Beta" of our flock, and does occasionally pick on one a couple of the other chickens, but not ruthlessly. Overall, if you want a olive green layer, I would recommend this breed.”
“We have one partridge olive egger in a mixed flock of 20. She is docile and often alone, but she isn't picked on. Her eggs are the most beautiful olive color I've ever seen. I just ordered three more partridge olive eggers so hopefully she'll have a little crew to hang with :)”
“If Ethel is laying, it's a brown egg but by our count, she's not laying yet. She's got spurs which is fine. She's flies over the gate but comes back in if you yell her name in a really disappointed tone. We've locked her in quarantine for days but no egg. At least she looks like the picture!”
“My girl looks nothing like the pictures, but she‚Äôs pretty and relaxed. Handles confinement well but also great at free ranging. Gives an egg almost every day which outpaces my other hens.”
“I received my chicks on December 29, 2020. I ordered 1 Partridge Olive Egger. She‚Äôs such a character. Nosey and sweet. She laid her first egg today and it‚Äôs a beautiful Olive green. She‚Äôs such a sweet and beautiful chicken. I‚Äôm so happy as I‚Äôve waited 3 years for an OE that lays Olive eggs. My others laid brown eggs. I‚Äôm so eggcited!!!”
“Cricket is on the higher end of the pecking order of four chickens, is a dependable layer, and overall friendly, though she has her moments. I get a beautiful sage-green egg every day-- she never fails to disappoint me. She always runs with out to greet me if the're in their free-ranging area, or does the chicken dance if she's in her run. Cricket is scared of our resident pigeon, Widget, but that's probably a good thing, though it really hurts if I'm holding her and she pushes off because she has really sharp claws. Though she looks a little bit like a roadrunner, I would recommend this chicken to anyone who wants a really good chicken.”
“I love my Partridge Olive Egger. She's my sweetest bird and absolutely loves laptime, but her egg (she just layed her first the other day) was blue tinted. It was so light that it was almost white, and if it was a color, it would be blue. Love the chicken, but wrong color egg”
