Baby Chicks: Partridge Olive Egger Female Reviews

4.4 Rating 83 Reviews
I got 21 chicks in September of 2021, pretty much all different breeds so I can have a colorful egg basket. This one is the one I consider my racing chicken. She is small and sleek and very fast. There will be no catching her if I ever had the need. She is very smart too, but standoffish with the other chickens as well as people. None of my chickens are laying yet, so I can't speak to the eggs. But she is pretty and colored like the photo, just not chubby like the photo.

Our strangest chicken.....very flighty. I think I've only gotten ahold of her twice and both times she scared me from screaming so loud. Just keeps to herself and isnt really social with my other chickens either. Still a beautiful chicken non the less.

We ordered 10 chicks, and our POE is the most beautiful. Marie Antoinette (her name) does not look at all like the picture above. She has red feathers with bright pumpkin orange neck and black speckles all over it. She's an amazing layer of light olive green eggs and is the boss of the flock. So happy with this breed.

Our POE, Sweet Pea began laying eggs yesterday! They are a pretty sage green. She is laying two weeks earlier than expected. We received her second egg today. We didn’t expect her to lay so soon so we were pleasantly surprised. She is definitely the leader of the pack (of six, each a different breed as we wanted different color eggs so we would know who’s egg is who’s) although she is a week and a half younger than our first two. She is friendly and inquisitive and likes to watch what we are doing in the coop. She is the first to run up when I enter their run while calling to them, carrying the white bucket of dried grubs. She also keeps alert and calls out, squawking loudly to the other hens when a hawk or other perceived danger is about. We love our Sweet Pea!

We received "Olive" nearly a year and a half ago as a day old chick from MyPetChicken. Out of the five chicks we received, she was one of the last to start laying (around 27 weeks), but has been a reliable layer of her beautiful olive eggs - usually one every other day (or three to four a week). Personality wise, she isn't the friendliest of the group, but she will squat and allow me to pick her up from time to time. She is the "Beta" of our flock, and does occasionally pick on one a couple of the other chickens, but not ruthlessly. Overall, if you want a olive green layer, I would recommend this breed.

We have one partridge olive egger in a mixed flock of 20. She is docile and often alone, but she isn't picked on. Her eggs are the most beautiful olive color I've ever seen. I just ordered three more partridge olive eggers so hopefully she'll have a little crew to hang with :)

If Ethel is laying, it's a brown egg but by our count, she's not laying yet. She's got spurs which is fine. She's flies over the gate but comes back in if you yell her name in a really disappointed tone. We've locked her in quarantine for days but no egg. At least she looks like the picture!
