“I love my Golden Buffs and did not know much about them until reading this site and the great reviews. I have two in my small backyard flock and love them both dearly. Sophia and Goldie are just gorgeous and so nice. They are quiet friendly cooperative birds. They love to forage with my Speckled Sussex and Barred Rock hens. Great addition to any flock particularly backyard farmers that require a small hen for large brown eggs thereby reducing feed cost. I would most assuredly purchase again!”
“We have had 2, and Baby Fluffy and Doris are the sweetest, most curious girls. My kids carry them around, and they are gentle and tolerant of the attention. Great layers, too. I wish there were some available on our ship date this year. We adore them!”
“My red stars might not be as decorative as other chickens, but the ones I've had are the most curious, friendliest, funniest birds in the flock. Sure, they can be bossy, but they aren't tyrants, like other top birds I've had. Their egg laying ability is amazing too. I”
“I avoided getting Red or Black Stars because I didn't think they were anything special. I picked up 1 of each at a re-homing event for someone moving to Hawaii and they turned out to be fabulous hens! Terrific layers and so friendly. My Red Star learned to come into my kitchen through the doggy door. I would turn around and there she would be looking at me and asking, "Are you in your cooooop?"”
“My two girls, Gertrude and Nicki, are definite ‚Äúegg laying machines‚Äù. They lay nearly every day and their eggs are a huge medium brown. They are very friendly and have a great personality. I‚Äôll be getting more if this breed when I expand my flock!”
“What a wonderful breed. She was a surprise in our Brown Layer Assortment and wish we had gotten more than one! Our girl, Poppy, is our friendliest hen. She often follows us around, loves to be picked up and petted and even tries to sneak inside our house! I swear she even plays with my five year old! On top of all those wonderful attributes, shes an excellent layer! She was the first to start laying and has laid one gorgeous dark brown egg everyday since.”
