“All 3 of them are beautiful and healthy and thriving. They are almost 8 weeks old now and grew very quickly. However, they are crazy. Lol. They scream like they are being murdered and jump over objects and each other to get away from me, or anyone or anything else they see. And I have spent time with them, I‚Äôve established a routine, etc. They have encountered no weird trauma since being in my care or anything that should have made them THIS anxious and skittish. If I purchase anymore ducks in the future, it will not be this breed. But I will be using MyPetChicken, they‚Äôre great.”
“We get a huge egg every day from the hens who are now entering their 3rd year. The only thing I don't agree with is Metzer says they less flighty than the khaki Campbell, but I dont find that to be true. Even though I worked a lot on bonding with them, they are still skittish. But then, I have them for eggs, not for pets. Can't complain about their egg-laying, it is the best, and I have had many breeds of ducks including Khaki Campbell, runner, swedish, mallard, rouen, muscovy, Pekin, cayuga, etc... ducklings are sexable by color when you get them from the hatchery, males have a wide black stripe on top of the head. However this doesn't hold true for subsequent generations of hatchlings. They will come out all colors but offspring are still the most amazing egg layers. This breed does well in the heat. Hens look similar to Khaki C but the shading varies a bit and they are slightly larger. I have two of the drakes and they look like very large Rouens (coloring). Bottom line, I never intend to have any other breed of duck except for a few Muscovy.”
