“Just received our second order. We purchased 15, 16 were in the box! Our first experience taught us that ducklings require a LOT more space than chicks. We purchased a large kiddy pool from Walmart. Lined it with butcher paper and added an inch of pine shavings. We put our Cozy Coop heater on the far side than put a gerbil cage, on it's side next to it. We covered the cage and heater with a blanket for insulation creating a cozy, warm, cave. We are using bunny bottles for water (2 bottles for 16 ducklings) and that is helping the space remain dry. Our feeders are set into pie plates with some river rocks around them and that is keeping the feed from becoming messy. More shavings mean the poo smell is not an issue and clean up is now a breeze instead of a 15 minute ordeal twice a day. TOTALLY LOVING DUCKLINGS!”
“Our first time with waterfowl and all we can think of is getting more. The learning curve was a bit more than anticipated, but all the teaching materials that are supplied made it go a bit smoother. The ducklings arrived safe and secure and hungry and thirsty. We were ready for all of that. They grew so fast! They love the cold weather and thrived even in the the snow we had right after moving them to their outside quarters. My husband did not like the idea of adding ducks to our farm. Now he wants more.”
