“I was able to put the whole coop together by myself. As other reviews noted it is a bit small for 6 hens, but it can work. I love the easy access doors on everything.”
“Not as sturdy as I had hoped for what I paid for this. Was easy to build with good written instructions included. Needs better ventilation. I gave it a coat of clear coat to help lengthen it‚Äôs life.”
“I wish that the roof opened on the side to access the nesting boxes inside of the walls opening. I also wish there was a way to block the bottom whole so the chickens couldn‚Äôt access the run during the night. I also had to add a hook to the front door so it will stay open during the day. That way the chickens can go back in to the nesting boxes when they want to.”
“Save your money and build one. The material is sooo bad and flimsy. Several pieces where broken including all along where they had screwed pieces together. There are knots with paint or something sprayed on them that doesn‚Äôt match the color. I went back and forth with customer service and they kept insisting it was all shipping damage. All I wanted was replacement pieces. I explained the mismatching paint saying they needed to know the quality of what they‚Äôre selling. They replied I must have not liked the surface painted instead of stained. I replied I didn‚Äôt care if it was stain or paint, it should match! They did replace the roof piece and gave me a bit of money back for the rest saying I could fix it.
The height under the coop is very short and too small to hold food, water and maybe two chickens. I built a taller base and will be building out a run. It‚Äôs a lot of money for such a small item that‚Äôs not really useable by itself.”
“Our 5 hens love this coop! It has enough room for all of them to perch on the 2 bars up high. I love the pull out tray for easy cleaning. The area below is for security at night to close it up since you cannot close the ramp opening so we open the bottom door each morning and let them free range their large enclosed area that we have built/fenced. Highly recommend for 4-5 hens if you have 1-2 large breed hens in your flock (Orpingtons, wyandottes, brahmas, etc) It could hold 6 hens if all are smaller breeds (Easter Eggers, silkies, those islands, etc)”
“Everything I expected and more coop holds six hens comfortable the only issue is you can‚Äôt secure flock in upper level with out being creative I had to modify mine so roof over nesting boxes would open due to space”
“It was easy to build. Four months old (through a hot/wet Fla summer), still looks adorable and is easy to clean with a water hose. My two chickens are so happy.”
