“Nice coop. Takes a bit of time to put together, but end result worth the time. Screwdriver included not adequate, so start out with a good quality screwdriver.
I am using this coop for young chickens until they are big enough to go in with the hens. There are three and it‚Äôs plenty big for them as they grow.”
“While it is true that up to four birds can have individual nests in this ‚Äúcoop‚Äù, I would call it a NEST BOX. There is little room other than the nest boxes and the ‚Äúrun‚Äù is barely enough for ONE chicken. It is also quite flimsy and some pieces are poorly milled and don‚Äôt fit together very well. The two doors on ours have a large gap, for example and we had to add a center splice to actually close them tightly. The hardware is utterly inadequate for safety from predators--any racoon can open the latches provided, so right away we had to spend additional money for haspsand carbiners. All the hardward cloth had to be reattached with screws and washers. The staples are about as sturdy as what you‚Äôd use in an office.
Obviously, we will just build our own next time. One other thing is that we ordered gray, as shown, but received blue. It’s all right, but it’s not what we ordered.
One other shortcoming is the paint on the VERY soft wood (nearly balsa) is so sparse that we had to start repainting after the first hard rain, so now it’s gray!
I cannot recommend this for the price unless you have no other options. If you get it, you must have an additional run immediately if you have even three chickens (as do we).”
“It's really cute, and fairly simple to put together. My only complaint would be that not all the pieces were cut properly so the lines are not clean and smooth.”
“the coop arrived with damage which I don't blame MPC for. I contacted them about the damage and they immediately offered to replace the broken pieces and also offered me a 25$ gift card. We had assembled and fixed the broken pieces the best we could but I just wasn't happy with it. Wood was split in a few places, pieces were discolored and ill-fitting. I bought new, expected new and MPC was completely understanding of that. They gave me a full refund and I was successfully able to buy the coop that best fits my family and our chickens needs. 2 stars for the coop, 5 stars for the customer service”
