“Automatic door is so convenient. Our first experience with chickens. At first we were concerned the chickens wouldn't go into the coop before door closing. But they new just when to go to bed. Door closed about 45 minutes after sunset. Solar/battery pack is great but wish waterproof box was slightly bigger. Such an awesome addition for the chicken palace. We were so impressed with how well it works. Our adult son put it together to attach to door, but it seemed easy enough.”
“We are very happy with the door opener and not having to get up early to let the chickens out. Installation was made easier by first watching the YouTube videos. Shipment was very fast and complete. Hentronix provided everything that you need except the tools needed for installation. The solar panel is a bit too small, so plan on periodically charging the battery or providing alternate power for which the base instructions hint at but do not tell you how to connect. Support from Hentronix to provide the alternate power connection details was very prompt by email. We learned about the need for alternate power when the door failed to open one morning. The watertight enclosure provided for the battery is almost big enough to hold the battery charger and the female end of an extension cord, so plan on providing a second waterproof enclosure. The closing time cannot be set as the unit follows the sun. This lack of feature worked against us as the door closed over an hour early on two occasions when we had severe thunderstorms that blackened the sky. The early closing during storms meant that we had to corral the flock in the dark under hard driving rain. Having a remote controller would be a really nice added feature that we would pay extra for.”
“Installed and door worked flawlessly for 5 weeks until we had a series of bad thunderstorms. I worked with Edward to determine why my door wasn't working and he determined it was probably a rare lightning charge. Door was replaced and Edward worked tirelessly to ensure the door is working properly and I was completely satisfied. Great product and excellent customer service.”
