“This thing is totally sturdy and well made! The only challenge is that the door opening is pretty small‚Äîso clean-up, adding food and changing water (and almost everything else) must be done from above. Every time I unzip or zip the top on/off, the chicks freak out, even if I go slow and speak softly so as not to surprise them. Might have something to do with how dark the mesh is? I wish someone would design one of these that zipped down the side as well so you could open it up that way. Alternatively, just having a bigger side door would be awesome. A removable bottom would also be great, enabling you to use it as an outdoor corral when you start introducing chicks to outside-time.”
“The brooder is easy to put up and the chicks have plenty of space to roam a round inside with the heater, water and food. The only negative is that the zipper, after less than a month of use, started re-opening with slight pressure. It still re-zips but I have to take the zipper all the way back around to the stop and zip it again. Other than that, the quality is great and I would definitely recommend the product.”
“I love this Hen Pen brooder! I will never brood chicks again without using it. It helps keep the chicks contained and the dust and mess to a minimum. There was plenty of space for 7 chickens, a jungle gym, heater, and feeder & waterer. Great quality and was easy to clean and put away.”
“I wasn't sure what to expect, exactly, but it was just like the listing says, thick canvas and much higher quality than the thin nylon puppy playpens you see. It is a relief to raise the chicks not having to worry that my dog will get in.”
