“This heater is safe and works well for my chickens. They gather up into their coop and sit near the heater for warmth and it keeps them warm without worrying of overheating or catching on fire. After we purchased the first one we went and bought another one.”
“Works well. Suggest plugging it in for a few days before putting chicks under it, since it has to burn off plastic smell. Smell can be a bit much until it burns off.”
“This heater does a really nice job of keeping my chickens warm. I have seven chickens on one roost and the largest option fit exactly the length I needed. It‚Äôs a little expensive for the quality, I think, and I‚Äôve had trouble keeping it from swinging/turning as an overhead mount once in a while; nevertheless, it gets the job done and my girls seem to really like it!”
“I have two of these -,one in my big coop and one in my bantam coop and I love them. I used to use radiant heaters that you screw into a light socket. But, those get very hot and I was always worried about fire. These heaters are warm over a large area but not hot anywhere. Super product.”
“We made a mistake in purchasing the heater.
We thought it would produce more heat. At 250 watts we found it is only good for just hatched chicks, and maybe for up to a couple weeks old.
We attempted to use it for older chicks and found it totally inadequate.
Plus, due to its low wattage it seems greatly overpriced. Although they also emit light, heat lamps are far less expensive.
I would not recommend it to others.”
“After I lost my coop, shed, and part of the siding on my house to a fire caused by a heat lamp, I feel so much safer brooding baby chicks with my Sweeter Heater! It doesn't get anywhere near as hot as a heat lamp, but it keeps my chicks warm and cozy underneath it. They barely make a sound because they are so content. It works beautifully from the time they are day-old chicks to the time they no longer need supplemental heat. Just raise it as needed as the chicks get taller. Highly recommended!”
