“I have a a Roo Jubilee and little Hen she is the so shy but the sweetest little lady. They are 6 months old. My Roo Duke now he is a character, he tidbits for me, offers me food and follows me around. Likes my little Shih Tzus , treats them like one of his ladies , so don’t mess with them. He is a little high strung right now since his hormones have kicked in, so he will go after my husband sometimes and give him a warning to behave. These are are first time chickens and I’m loving it. I also have a blue Cochin and chocolate Orpington, I hope to add a couple Buffs and that will be my little brood.”

Roos can always be a bit more high strung while those hormones are balancing out but it sounds like he is doing a great job with his roo duties! The females are generally sweet and calm making them very nice birds to have around! As a first time chicken mom, it is so wonderful to watch the antics and behaviors of the new birds in your yard.
