Baby Chicks: Jubilee Orpington Female Reviews

4.8 Rating 24 Reviews
I have a a Roo Jubilee and little Hen she is the so shy but the sweetest little lady. They are 6 months old. My Roo Duke now he is a character, he tidbits for me, offers me food and follows me around. Likes my little Shih Tzus , treats them like one of his ladies , so don’t mess with them. He is a little high strung right now since his hormones have kicked in, so he will go after my husband sometimes and give him a warning to behave. These are are first time chickens and I’m loving it. I also have a blue Cochin and chocolate Orpington, I hope to add a couple Buffs and that will be my little brood.

Thank you so much for the review of your Jubilee Orpingtons! Roos can always be a bit more high strung while those hormones are balancing out but it sounds like he is doing a great job with his roo duties! The females are generally sweet and calm making them very nice birds to have around! As a first time chicken mom, it is so wonderful to watch the antics and behaviors of the new birds in your yard. Honestly, that never gets old! If we can help at any time as your birds mature, we are always happy to be of assistance.

Dottie sounds like a real gem in your flock and those patterns are truly gorgeous! Orpingtons in general are very docile and friendly (perfect for first timers) and your sweet girls sounds like no exception. Give her a treat from all of us!

I got her in July 2024. She is a year old now and is beautiful! She was the first one to start laying in February 2025 and has been laying well ever since! She’s a big girl too! Definitely worth it!

Oh, we just love hearing this! Jubilee Orpingtons have such a special charm, and it sounds like yours has really grown into a stunning, big girl. I’m not surprised she was the first to start laying—they can be such go-getters when they’re happy and healthy. They become even more beautiful with every molt! It warms our heart knowing she’s been such a joy for you and totally worth adding to your flock. Here’s to many more baskets full of her beautiful eggs for years to come.

I am so pleased with this breed through mypetchicken. Mine has aged into the biggest sweetheart and is the perfect companion to my only bantam. She also has beautiful chartreuse eyes which was a surprise.
