“I ordered just three chicks, being a backyard chicken hobbyist and not a serious breeder or egg vendor (I have five adult hens they will join later). It's absolutely awesome that I can order so few, in a wide range of breeds that are impossible to find locally or at my farm store (and it was nearly impossible to choose, but I finally decided on friendlier breeds because my chickens are pets, as much as I appreciate their eggs)! Plus, I was able to order by sex so that I get the hens I want and don't get the roos I don't! In addition to my Lavender Orphington, I also ordered BBS Andalusian and White Cochin (oh, such cute feathered legs! It may change, but I'm currently calling her "Chaps" because of her feathered thighs!). I can't wait until my LO feathers out and displays her lavender shades! I was particularly impressed with the fact that I ordered my little peepers late evening on October 29, and they shipped October 30 and arrived October 31! You guys are on the ball! Everyone arrived chirping and sprite, and easily took to a sip of water and offered crumbles. They were securely packaged in a heavy-duty cardboard live animal box, safely nestled in dense straw-like nesting material. I'm SO in love! Thank you, My Pet Chicken! You have a customer for life!”
“Mrs. Lee is as sweet as can be! Beautiful coloring, great personality. She is a very friendly chicken, who enjoys jumping up on anyone's lap to snag food!
She is neither top or bottom of pecking order, just right!!”
“Was lucky enough to purchase a Lavender Orpington this year. What a beauty and a love bug. She is a 2 1/2 months old now, gets along well with others, you can hold her as long as you like and pet on her, and she's absolutely stunning to look at. Kind of pricey but well worth it. Very highly recommend.”
“I got six different breeds from MPC a little over four months ago. Lillian is large and beautiful but very standoffish. She won't let me touch her, and I got her after reading about how friendly MPC's Lavender Lily is. I know they all have different personalities, but out of the six, I would put her at a five on the friendly scale. (Number six is Felicia, the favacauna, who acts like I'm trying to kill her every time I walk into the coop.) I'm looking forward to seeing Lillian's eggs, and there's always hope that she'll get friendlier. She will eat out of my hand and she is undeniably gorgeous.”
“One of my lavender orps died at 4 days old. She seemed very weak and wasn't eating. The other (now 3 months old) is unusually aggressive for a pullet. They were absolutely adorable, but honestly, at this price, disappointing.”
“My girls are almost 4 weeks old and adorable!! Violet and Precious Plum are healthy active little chickens and getting more lovely lavender / grey feathers everyday! I received five other chickens in the shipment and they are all growing quickly, super active, and getting more curious about everything around them!”
“Lav. ORPINGTONS are absolutely the best birds!! They are the calm curious' Big Teddy Bears" of the chicken world' also Great layers, love , love, love them.”
