Baby Chicks: Mille Fleur d'Uccle Bantam Female Reviews

4.7 Rating 63 Reviews
These are my favorite little hens. They are half the size of my other hens and eggs are also half the size. They are constantly broody and I give them fertilized eggs each spring to hatch and they happily “mother” regular sized chicks. They are the cutest fluffy feet and get along fine with the other normal sized hens. They are easy to pick up and tolerate me petting their fluffy cheeks

Friendliest and most beautiful chick we've had. Currently 7 years old and survived multiple attacks from prey. She is also the easiest in our flock to catch and hold. The last two years, I've taken her in for show and tell when our school hatches eggs.

These chickens brought us so much joy! Despite their recent passing, the memories of their friendly demeanor, especially Piper's cheerful morning greetings, linger fondly. I love the unique sound of their vocalizations, their beautiful feathers, and how they always made us laugh. They were not just pets; they were helpful garden companions, always eager to follow me around and diligently assist in tilling the soil. Though they are missed, I look forward to adding more to my flock next spring!

We have two bantam Mille Fleurs and they are an absolute joy with tons of personality and a bit of sass. They’re very vocal because they have a lot to tell you! They are our “sentinels” and watch over the rest of the flock on top of the coop before I put them all to bed. Our littlest one, Fireball, loves grapes in the most adorable way. She’ll grab one and RUN off with it. Everyone has learned to leave her alone with her grapes. ;) They are also very cuddly and love to be held and snuggled. I just love this breed!

My little Mille Fleur “Dottie” is 7 years old. She came from My Pet Chicken those many years ago. She is loud when she lays, she is loud when she calls the alarm! She has always been my alpha hen. She has survived two bobcat attacks, and most recently the neighbor’s German Pointer who took out 7 of my flock. She reliably gives me one beautiful tiny egg a month. She is quite a character, a bossy little thing, but I adore her.

Beautiful healthy chicks arrived safely. They have been super easy to care for for a first-time chicken owner. In just two weeks, they have already doubled in size and sprouted gorgeous plumage.

Had some concerns about including a bantam chick in my order of standard-sized birds but I needn’t have worried. Little Bonsai! is a feisty fellow, at just three days old, holding his own against all comers. He is absolutely adorable.
