“I adore our Mille Fleur. She's the tiniest of the group, but a big personality. She seems to be the wing-woman of our alpha hen who's at least double her size. They do the pecking order stand off with one another, but she doesn't with anyone else. Such a funny relationship. She loves being held once she's up, but runs around like a tiny walrus if you try to pick her up and she's not into it.
We named her Ruth Bader Ginsburg (not knowing how petite she'd be) and in hindsight, very apt.”
“I ordered one of these girls months ago and she is one of the sweetest chickens I've ever had. She loves following people and sleeps when my sister puts her on her lap. Her cheeks are also adorably fluffy- i was glad to see she's bearded! Overall i would love to get more of them when i can.”
“Aurora Featherfeets is a favorite of ours. She is very easy to catch and will sit in our lap for cuddles and petting. Me and my daughter fight over who gets to hold and pet her so apparently I should have gotten one for each of us. You can't go wrong with this breed.”
“Purchased two Mille Fleur's and two Easter Eggers, and the two Mille Fleur's are so beautiful. One was named Sweetie on day one, and she truly is the sweetest of the four, her mille 'sister' is already showing her sneaky, smart side. She is always trying to escape! All four are super friendly, and showing their unique personalities already at only 4 weeks.”
“I didn't believe that sexed bantams could be a reality until I found My Pet Chicken! My girls are almost 8 weeks old and were sexed correctly! They are arrived happy and healthy. They are also gorgeous and sweet and I'm so happy to have them. 10/10 would buy again!”
“Miss Spoons is a little style maven: she looks like she‚Äôs wearing a fox fur stole over grey sweats, hoping to go unrecognized while she runs into the grocery store for some ciggies and a Perrier.
She moves like a tiny figure skater, doing little figure eights, and swirling up suddenly from under her flock-mates’ wings. She’s graceful and has a slightly whispery voice, chirping mostly in apparent approval, except for the few times she’s found herself underfoot, stomped on inadvertently by her huge, dark Brahma sister. Then she swears like nobody’s business, shrieking everybody else into stunned silence.
She‚Äôs got sort of a Faye Dunaway vibe, slightly haughty and intense. If one morning I see her show up with oversized square sunglasses, frosted lipstick, or an entourage, I won‚Äôt be all that surprised. I may ask for her autograph, but I suspect she‚Äôll just glare and hustle away.”
“Our Mille Fleur D'uccle is just so sweet!! Just as sweet as the Silkies we also ordered. Extremely calm and let my kids catch and hold her. Loves to perch and fly at 4 weeks....always on top of the starter box I got from MPC and sometimes out in my laundry room, but knows how to fly back in. Just as attached to this chicken as any dog I have had. Will sit on my shoulder like a cockatiel all day. Love her!!”
“I was buying silkies when they ran out , to buy the 5 in my cart I needed to add one more chick . Customer service suggested this breed, said they get along pretty good with silkies and also kids.
When we opened the box we noticed eye was sealed shut . I was able to wipe it off but over night it happened again and again . I contacted customer service about it and they didn’t want to do anything to make it right , said it would go away on its own.
Hatch date was September 30 and we are February 7 and her eyes still shut close every single night . She seems healthy otherwise but I will tell you quality isn’t there . No one else caught her eye issues but two of my silkies that came with her died . So that’s three out of six birds with health issues and the company wouldn’t do do anything about it .
Aside from that , she’s the sweetest chicken I ever ever owned in my life . She is half the size of my smallest silkie the same hatch date ! I don’t know if that’s a quality issue or if they really are that much smaller .
Dottie is kind of a loner in some senses , no one picks on her and she doesn’t fight , she cuddles a little with the others but otherwise stays to herself . Sleeps by herself .
Dottie loves attention and loves to perch on your arm or finger . She’s a total chatterbox ! Will put her foot on mine and look straight up and chatter away . Lol She’s my favorite!!
The breed is SO wonderful , even with the children and fine with silkies . I prefer this breed over silkies in a flash for anyone deciding .
Just know these aren‚Äôt by any means show quality birds and quality isn‚Äôt great .”
