“I was not able to use the clamp. I have the lamp suspended directly over one side of the cage with a thermometer on the back ‚Äúwall‚Äù for reference. I try to keep the temperature at the level the chicks need, but they can get away to the other side of the cage if it gets too warm. I raise and lower it using ‚ÄúS Beaner‚Äòs‚Äù on a large hangin lamp chain. I also use a large paper clamp around the cord so that the lamp does not tilt and the cord does not rest against the lamp shade.”
“Based on our needs, a heat lamp made the most sense for us. However, I made the mistake of ordering my lamp at the same time as my chicks and had to purchase a lamp at Tractor Supply when I realized my chicks would arrive before my lamp. As much as I love My Pet Chicken, the Tractor Supply lamp had a much safer guard: about 6 inches from the bulb vs. only about 2 inches from the bulb with the My Pet Chicken lamp. Ultimately, I‚Äôm glad I have it as a back up, but I would only use it if I was sure it couldn‚Äôt fall in the brooder if my attachment failed.”
“We had the best experience with MyPetChicken. When I emailed them, I received an immediate personal response back- twice! They‚Äôre patient, knowledgeable, and friendly. We got our chicks, our supplies, and we‚Äôre happy! Hoping to buy a new coop through them, too. Great company!!”
