“The 5 chicks that lived are 3 different sizes. The smallest one is not shy about pushing her way into the food. I have been digging worms for them and I went around for a few days killing flies. About 30 or 40 at a time. They are hilarious to watch them chase each other when one gets a worm and takes off running. The other 4 are hot on that ones heels chasing it as though there were not a dozen worms for them in a dish. The talk (chirp) quietly & constantly when they are awake. The two larger ones are practicing flying often. They run and flap their wings. The littlest one tries from a standing position. They are really quite entertaining. I have also been crushing a hard boiled egg yolk into their morning food. If I had known to do that earlier I may not have lost three of them. I got more chick feed at the local elevator.”
