“I was very excited to get this nest box in the mail!!! I tried some different options for roll away boxes from Amazon and they were awful. They fell apart, the nest bases would fall out of them, the hens could still reach in and eat the eggs...not helpful and a waste of time and money!
This is an AWESOME nest box compared to what I tried before, it's a heavy duty sheet metal, it was relatively easy to assemble, (the only issue I had was I had the attachment bars for the roost facing the wrong direction when I first tried to assemble it, but MPC was able to show me what I did wrong which was so obvious after they pointed it out!) The bolts and hardware are heavy duty and the roll away box is twice as deep as the cheaper options I foolishly tried before, There's no trays to kick out or fall on the floor whenyour hens climb in and kick around and the plastic/pvc coated wire bottom is sturdy and hopefully will allow enough air to circulate under my hens that maybe they'll be less likely to go broody which would be amazing and super helpful!
If you have hens eating your eggs, or simply want eggs that aren't covered in poop or that you have to fight broody hens over constantly, GET this box!”
