“Buttercup is our favorite chicken! She is beautiful and she's a scrapper! She is the only bantam in our flock (our fault for not considering that) and initially was picked on, but she stands up for herself! Brave little thing and she follows us around when we free range them. She is very social, loves people and lays beautiful cream colored eggs. They are small but she is our favorite addition to our flock!”
Thank you for sharing about Buttercup! She sounds like such a little warrior—small but mighty! We love hearing how she holds her own in the flock and has such a brave and social personality. Porcelain D’Uccles are truly special, and it’s wonderful that she enjoys following you around and being part of the action.
Her cream-colored eggs may be small, but it sounds like she makes a huge impact in your flock and heart. We’re so happy she’s your favorite and that she’s thriving with you! Thank you for choosing My Pet Chicken, and give Buttercup a little treat from us!
“What she lacks in size, she makes up for with feist. Shes the smallest chicken in our mixed flock but holds her own. Lays a tan colored tiny egg (though not many).”
Thank you for the review and the photo! It is true that they are small but have a big personality! The Procelain d'Uccle Bantams are known for their tiny eggs and beautiful colors- although you won't see her full feathered glory til after the first adult molt. Congratulations on your beautiful flock!
“This is my second purchase from My Pet Chicken.
My chicks were delivered on time as expected. I was a little panicky and I called really early in the morning and realized it when I got a recording, I hung up. I received a phone call first thing when the office opened and she was kind and ready to help.
The birds are sweet and so calm compared to the Crested Polish ( Zoe and Chloe that I purchased at the same time . I named her Cheeks.”
"Thank you so much for your continued support and for sharing your experience! It’s wonderful to hear that your chicks arrived on time and that our team was able to get back to you first thing in the morning to help with your concerns. We’re so happy that your new chick, Cheeks, is settling in well and that you’re enjoying her calm and sweet nature. It sounds like she’s fitting right in with Zoe and Chloe! We look forward to helping you with any future orders and appreciate your kind words!
We were disappointed as well that you were not able to have the beautiful Porcelain d'Uccle bantam in your flock and are thankful that we were able to find a replacement for your girl. We appreciate your trust in our company and hope to help you in the future with any of your flock care needs.
Uh oh, the "Chicken Math" has begun! We completely understand and hope that if you decide you cannot control the impulse, you will let us be the one to help build your flock even more!
We are so very happy to hear your little ones are healthy and happy in their new home with you! They are precious! Please let My Pet Chicken know if you have any questions or if we may assist you with your flock care needs, we are happy to help!
“Bit of irony here, I ordered 2 Porcelain d'Uccles (female) with the intention of giving one of them away to my dear friends. As early as 2 weeks old, I was able to tell that 'Billie' was actually going to be 'Billy.' Since I had just adopted a Mille Fleur d'Uccle rooster from the same friends the baby Porcelain d'Uccle was destined for, I decided I wouldn't give them headache by offloading another rooster on them. In a turn of events, I was actually HAPPY to have a sexing error - now I would have a male and female pair of these birds!
Billy and Mandie are the best. They are remarkably quirky, inquisitive, and adorable. Aside from the rooster I adopted, these babies are my first experience with d'Uccles. Definitely one of my all-time favorite breeds. They enjoy being picked up and petted. You have to be calm approaching them, but once they are in your arms, they are nothing but a cuddly ball of feathers. So tiny!!! If you are looking for a 'pet' chicken, these wonderful babies are THE definition of a Pet Chicken!”
