“I have spent my first year as a chicken owner learning from a lot of trial and error. I have tried everything from a basic metal feeder (gets rain and snow in it, tons of waste) to the Royal Rooster system (easily clogged), and this bucket is the best feeder imaginable. My five girls learned how to use it on seconds. I fill it up once a month, wild birds don't pilfer food anymore, and it keeps the elements away from their feed. I use layer crumbles and it is perfect. My only complaint is its really hard for me to get the lid on and off. My hands are small and I have bad tendinitis. It's quite difficult for me to open.”
