Baby Chicks: Rhode Island Red Female Reviews

4.9 Rating 47 Reviews
So for background my Rooster ended up being a mistake. I had ordered a bantam Plymouth Rock rooster and the chick ended up being a Rhode Island Red. Butters is my first rooster rooster so I was a little worried about aggression, but so far he has been very docile to people. He does not like to be handled and keeps a healthy distance away from me, even as a chick, but I have had no issues working with my flock around him. He does crow pretty frequently (he likes to let me know when my daughter leaves the back yard, it's adorable) but it's not overly loud and I've had no complaints from my neighbors. So as far as roosters go, I'd say Rhode island red is a great backyard chicken and food for beginners.

I have 2 of these cuties (Honey & Peanut Butter), they’re very outgoing and little comedians. Honey is the “ring leader” she tries new things and all the other girls follow along. They’re now 2 1/2 weeks old.

Honey and Peanut Butter are absolutely adorable! Rhode Island Reds are great flock birds and as a flock keeper of a few myself, I love this breed as they definitely have such great personalities! Thank you for taking the time to share your photos of these cuties!
