“I ordered some Salmon Faverolles chicks and they arrived healthy and FEISTY! They are the cutest little things and took right to eating and drinking after I dipped beaks and tapped their food in front of them. I had the breed many years ago and am glad to have them again. They are the sweetest little birds as they start to become pullets or cockerels. They will forever be a favorite of ours. I am looking forward to them growing into some friendly birds. Thank you so much!”
“We ordered a rooster specifically. He is HUGE, and surprisingly very very sweet. Does well guarding the flock to a degree.. Wouldn‚Äôt risk his life but still a good boy.”
“What a quirky chicken! Our Salmon Faverolles, Hazel, has always been a unique individual. All the other chickens will be over here doing something useful and she‚Äôll be over there, just sitting around in the grass. She‚Äôs at the bottom of the pecking order and gets picked on a lot, but that‚Äôs just the way of the chicken I suppose. She has never been the best layer; she‚Äôs only three and she hardly layed any eggs this past summer. But she‚Äôs so cute and sweet. She is very quiet, and most often makes an inquisitive cooing noise which I love. I would not buy this breed again based upon Hazel‚Äôs laying ability, but I still love having her around.”
“I have purchased three different times from MPC, and my Salmon Faverolles, Clementine, did not disappoint! She is the last born in my mixed flock of 15, including 2 roosters. First off, they are absolutely stunning! She is curious, and funny, and I call her "my lead investigator". She is the first to get into anything, and check out new things. I was initially weary because this site warns about how they are bound to be bullied, but she stands up to my alpha hen and rowdy boys without batting an eye. I will never go without a salmon in my flock again :)”
“We have one Salmon Faverolles as part of a 6 chicken mixed flock. She is a little flighty but you can catch her if you need to. Not the friendliest of the bunch, but not mean at all. Her best quality is she's a steady layer. She has been laying faithfully every other day through the dead of Minnesota winter even while all my other hens have decided to take a vacation. She's really vocal and will scold me anytime I do anything with the hen house (clean, etc). If you're looking for a good, consistent layer of light brown to pink colored eggs, this is your gal.”
“My two Faverolles, Martha and Dory are the sweetest and most friendly hens! They are talkative and have friendly loving personalities! A must-buy if you want a sweet lap chicken!
10/10!!!”
“Josie is the quirkiest of my flock-- always doing her own thing and yelling about it. I enjoy her very much. She has a sweet personality and doesn't mind being handled. She sounds a bit like a barking dog rather than a chicken, but I find it endearing. She fits right in with my other girls-- I've no trouble with her being bullied. We love her beard and her funky feet.”
