“Omg! She is hysterical! Her personality is off the charts! She is such a butter ball in looks. Lots of playful energy but very sweet and can sit on my lap and chill. Can‚Äôt wait to see her color as she grows!”
“She is big and beautiful and SO SWEET! Her coloring is so interesting I can just stare at her forever. She also lays just as much as my white leghorn (every day). I love her!”
“I only got one of these and glad because she's a loud little chick. She is scared of me even after working with her, she's about 5 weeks old and I plan on working with her more. She will peck my finger (ouch) out of the 12 I ordered she is my least favorite but sometimes love comes slowly.”
“Norma Jean is my one Faverolle and of my 15 ordered, I was a bit disappointed in her. She is definitely so docile to the point that she never gets any treats unless I pull her aside and give her something while she's alone. She's a bit shy but not a mean bone in her body. Love the funky fluffy feet and extra toe, and fluffy cheeks, but she's one of the ugliest in my flock. Instead of the pretty cream and tan, mine was brown with dark feathers scattered throughout, with a dark beard... She just looks so dirty all the time. She's an ok layer of smaller cream eggs and can go broody. She seems to be the least heat tolerant of my bunch but seems to do fine through our hot and humid Texas summers (lots of shade and insulated roof). She's my ugly duckling, but I love her anyway. :)”
“Once they were conditioned with treats my Faverolles became some of my most beloved chickens. they beg like dogs. they are large birds with the fattest bottoms that waddle when they run to you for treats. they are some of the funniest looking chickens and the fluffy derrieres sticking up skyward as their faces are down in the dirt will make anyone smile. they are also very noisy and talkative and seem to intentionally turn up their volume when you're on the phone and not focusing on them. there are two colors of salmon faverolles, ones with white beard, muff and fluff feathers and ones with black beard, muff and fluff feathers. the ones with white "accents" if you will, lay eggs that appear a wonderful light pink when the bloom is left on the eggs. when washed the cashew color below remains. the faverolles with black accents lay darker but still light brown eggs. if you want pink eggs as i did when i ordered my chickens i would order extra faverolles knowing that not all will have the white accents and lay pink eggs. Also for their size their eggs are relatively small. My Cream Legbars are half their size and lay much larger eggs more frequently. Faverolles are best kept for their beauty and friendliness not for their egg production except if you want the coveted pink eggs for variety in your basket.”
“"Pence" (like the British penny) is extremely cute and sweet. She lays small light cream colored eggs and is a reliable layer. I love her feathered feet‚Ķ They do get dirty. My negative about the type is that they are known for being extremely chatty. Somehow her noise sounds nothing like any other bird in our coop...you can hear her above the rest! And if she ever need something, I know that I will hear about it at full volume until the problem has been remedied! Very sweet and my kids would buy another in a heartbeat‚Ķ”
