They're annoying, they squawk loud, they constantly fly away, they pearch on the roof of the hen house where I have to chase them down before they attract hawks, they dart around like little road runners, they annoy the rest of the flock. But they are pretty. Not recommended at all...”
“I have two of these in my assorted flock. True, they are not very friendly, but mine don't seem to mind being in the coop. One of them likes to fly up on the 2nd story deck and lay eggs there when she's out and about. The other one is the lowest in the pecking order - possibly because of her size (I don't have any bantams). They are very pretty hens and consistent layers. The eggs seem to have a higher yolk-to-white ratio than my other hens.”
