“This chicken is supposed to lay large eggs from all that I've read. Mine lays the smallest egg of all my hens and it is very tiny. However she is a consistent layer, she was the 1st to lay despite being younger by 1 month, very beautiful and friendly. It's one of my mother's favorite chickens. Still wish her egg was larger, but she does crank them out like a machine!”

When it comes to egg size and rates, there can be many factors that play into your flock's production to include environment such as the amount of daylight they are getting (this is especially true during the fall and winter months) as well as their feed and also, their age. Their first year of egg production often will produce eggs that are not as big but the next season, they are more to their expected medium size for this breed of chickens.
