“Very happy with my two bountiful blues, Spot and Dot. Sadly lost the third on day 5. The other two are super hardy. One is more on the top of pecking order and the other lower down has been one of the friendliest. She likes to be pet and hop on my shoulder and lap. They both lay the prettiest aqua blue eggs, so super lucky there. They seem to be doing well in this very hot summer so far. They started laying around 20 weeks old, which I thought was early compared to some of my older hens.”
We are so sorry to read about the loss of your third baby! It is so sad when we lose them and you have our sincere sympathy for her. Thankfully, Spot and Dot sound like they are doing great and living up their this breed's reputation of being super friendly and layers of those beautiful blue-hued eggs! Please let us know if you ever have any questions or concerns about your girls or their flock care needs, we are happy to do our best to help!
“I ordered 4 Bountiful Blue Egg Layers and 4 Cuckoo Bluebars born March 4, 2024. On 7/18/24 we received our first egg! I am honestly not sure which breed laid the egg at only 19.5 weeks, but it's a beautiful blue egg. The Bountiful Blue Egg Layers are my favorite chickens. All are super friendly. Customer service at My Pet Chicken has been good too. Thank you!”
“My blues are very sweet, clever and the fastest of all my birds. They’re much more lightweight than my other hens and lay gorgeous eggs. They do tend to go broody more often than anyone else. They’re a year old now and healthy.”
We are so happy to hear your girls are doing so great and are living their best lives :-) The Bountiful Blues do have a tendancy to go broody so we recommend, even on their breed page, if a flock keeper would rather not have to deal with a moody/broody hen, they may want to choose a Cream Legbar instead :-) Please let us know if we can help you with anything whether it be questions or supplies for your flock, we are happy to help!
“Dorothy (or Dottie as we call her) arrived healthy, and was so much bigger than the other chicks she came with that I had to put her with our group that was already a week old! Since then she’s been a joy. I was worried at first that her skittishness would stay, but she’s now 11 weeks and loves hanging out with us. She’s so sweet and inquisitive, and I’m so excited to see what her eggs look like. Will report back then! If I could figure out how to add a photo I would, she’s beautiful and so big already!”
Thank you for taking the time to review our little Bountiful Blue babies! We are so happy to hear Dottie is thriving and bringing you joy! My Pet Chicken hopes to help you with your flock needs in the future!
“First off, she’s a very consistent layer. So she gets an extra star. The eggs are basically white, maybe blue if you squint. However, she has terrible instincts, and does the opposite of what every other chicken does. She is mean, flighty, and loud. Lays everywhere, roosts random places, and runs into walls and fences a lot. Not my favorite bird but at least she lays.”
I'm truly sorry to hear about the loss of your chicks during shipping. While we're glad we could provide a refund, we understand it doesn't replace the chicks you were expecting. We're constantly working to improve our shipping processes for the safe arrival of all our feathered friends. Your feedback is important, and we'll use it to refine our services.
