“The coop is bulky and not as easy to use as shown in pictures. You have to keep removing the metal rods and the holes don‚Äôt line up exactly. It took 2 of us 2.5 hours to put together. We bought the optional run which makes it very difficult to get the coop and run cover to line up, leaving gaps for predators to get in. Also, with the run, there is no door to the main coop, which doesn‚Äôt seem super safe to me. I‚Äôm of course keeping it because I spent $1300... but I wouldn‚Äôt buy it again. My chickens stay in the run and never go in the main coop. Really disappointed.”
“I am happy with this coop and my chickens enjoy the new habitat. Its easy to keep clean. My only concern is the bottom where there are two gaps underneath where the door and ladder are. The two gaps are on both side of the front of the coop. A snake could easily get in if there are chicks inside. I've attached some pictures.”
“I did a lot of research before buying this coop. It looks perfect online but there are so many flaws. Very frustrating. Every night I have to secure it with bungee cords because the tops do not latch on properly”
“I haven't started using the coop yet but not impressed with the design that requires it to open it from the top to clean. I am not tall and this is going to be cumbersome task. Also, closures are difficult to operate for getting to eggs, food, water. A 10-yr old girl will be helping with the chickens and she cannot operate it without help. The handles for the tractor do not stay secure and the design is a back injury waiting to happen. The tractor claims it supports 85 lbs and this coop is well over 5 lbs with the extended run. If it wasn't going to be such a pain to dismantle and re-pack/ship, I would send this coop back. I will probably end up getting another but going to give this one a try first since I spent almost 1500 on it.”
“The coop is very well designed, sturdy and easy to clean. The chickens seemed to like it as well. (The coop arrived with two wire panels that appeared to be used and some pieces bent. But the company sent out new replacements in a timely manner.) The only current challenge I have now is that the holes in the plastic roof structure that hold the metal rods for reassembly after cleaning out the coop are difficult to line up.”
“The coop is great. I called the company twice about questions with chickens & both timeS they were super helpful and nice. My only complaint is that they sent me the wrong color coop but I actually really like it!”
“Sturdy construction & ease of assembly. Be sure to read the entire assembly manual before beginning. Lay out hardware with the assembly pieces to ensure you are using the right bolts. Requires several hours for construction of the run & coop. May purchase second door for coop. Put chicken wire under run to keep out critters.
Feeder works well, but still evaluating whether waterer is best option versus hanging waterer which we have used in past. Chickens seem to enjoy their new home.”
