“I haven't actually used it yet as my chicks haven't arrived. I have had chick plates before and I am a real fan. They emulate babies being under their mama and i feel this is a more natural way to raise peeps.”
Thank you so much for your 5 Star review! We greatly appreciate your feedback and agree that heater plates seem a great way to brood our babies as they are safer and we believe, the chicks enjoy the "mother hen" atmosphere. We like to suggest as well that when using the heater plates to have a nightlight on in the brooder area so the little ones can find the heat plate especially during the first few nights.
“This is great. I previously had been using a floor warmer used for reptiles, and it got a bit messy from the chick droppings. The chicks love being underneath and relaxing.”
“Broody hen's brooding paid off with two chicks this morning. The heater was in its box, ready to go. It was easy to set up, and while I can feel it's warm underneath, it isn't so hot I'm worried about it starting a fire. The height is a little awkward to adjust, and I do wish it was easier to check on the chicks without picking it up, but it's keeping them warm, and they like snuggling under it. And there's still plenty of room if there are any clutchmates in the next few days.”
“This product is great. It provides warmth with safety . Uses 7 watts vs. 250 of a heat lamp and does not create a fire danger. Chicks love it. Definitely a must have in my view.”
“I started with the heat lamp until my EcoGlow arrived, I switched the chicks over and was amazed how much calmer they became. They are more easily picked up and held. Overall a much happier flock. Happier humans as well without the possibility of catastrophe from the heat lamp.
I am thrilled with this purchase.”
