“I have used heat lamps in the past. I decided to switch because I wanted the chicks to be able to have a natural day/night cycle, and I always worried about a fire with the lamp. The chicks quickly learned to snuggle under the plate to stay warm. This was the quietest batch of chicks I have ever had, and the least fearful. It was almost difficult to maintain the brooder because they didn‚Äôt run in fear of my hands while I did maintenance, although it was very cute to have them constantly under my hands. It was easy to tell when to adjust the plate height based on the volume of the peeping. All in all, I was very happy with it in our temps, which went down to the low 60‚Äôs at night. Chicks stayed warm and graduated from the brooder with no losses and in my opinion less stress than a heat lamp.”
“The chicks love it! And I highly recommend it. It will be a purchase I will make again when necessary. It's easy to clean up. The height adjustments are very easy. I love that you can lower the front and keep the back higher if need be.”
“We purchased two different chick brooder heaters.
The EcoGlow is the one the chicks prefer. We like this one more than the other heater also….here’s why….
It is very easy to adjust the height of the EcoGlow.
The top is slippery so the chicks don’t sit up there as much as the other heater we purchased. That’s a good thing as the other heater is covered in poop daily because the chicks roost on top of it all the time.
I would recommend the EcoGlow.”
“Can't go wrong with EcoGlow. My chicks love it. They group up together and all you see are their little legs, so cute! Easy to assemble. Constructed nicely, sturdy and easy to wipe clean as now they're using the top to roost on.”
