“One of my wife's nurses from work had a child with a class project of hatching eggs. They ended up with 40 some odd chicks. Even though we didn't have room for more birds we took 6 off their hands. These birds are wonderful. For such a small frame bird they lay huge white eggs everyday. They talk quite loud after they lay but it just lets me know when I can go check for my daily harvest.”
“We bought 10 chickens one was a leghorn. I took them to church and the kids in my Sunday school class named her Chicken little but we call her C.L. She is the sweetest chicken I have ever had. She thinks shes my baby. She has to get in my lap for at least 5 minutes in the mornings so that I can pet her. She follows me all over and trys to come in the house with me. She is also a very good egg layer. The only one that is laying at this point.”
“I bought 6 leghorns from a different source over 4 years ago. I lost all but one over the ensuing years from various reasons.
The one I have left is over 4 years old and still lays an egg every other day like clock work. The first two years she layed consistently every day.
My next batch will all be white leghorns to replace 2 year old non-laying welsummers and broody marans.”
“I have only one white leghorn in my flock and she is definitely my favorite! She is gentle, friendly, lays every morning a large white egg and goes to the proper place in the coop every night.
I will order more next time!”
“I have 8 different breeds. White Leghorn is the best layer of all. They lay large white egg almost everyday. But they do not live long. All died before they reached age 3. I was told by many sources that their body collapsed after all those laying days. I missed them!”
