“This is a fantastic brooder, if you’re on the fence about it please give it a try! In addition to raising chicks, it makes a wonderful little enclosure for a broody mama hen and a few chicks if you should ever need to partially or fully separate them from flockmates for a little while, as well as a good safe environment for a sick or segregated hen or two.
It is a breeze to set up and easy to clean and sanitize which is a must. It is safe to use with a brooder plate and quite breathable, while still minimizing dust in the area (very nice if you’re brooding inside the house as I am!) but my favorite feature of this brooder is the additional little door on the side. Top access is great, but with the addition of the little door I can sit or lay down and bond well with my chicks! Getting down on their level without forcing interactions allows me to really build trust and get to know each and every chick better.
While it is much more secure than other tent brooders out there, it is of course not dog or predator proof so use your best judgement / common sense and store it in a safe location + don’t leave unsupervised with young children or pets.
It really is a worthy investment because it can be reused and repurposed so. I’m very glad I grabbed one when I did! I love it!”

“I await chick delivery but see this as a real treat with heater as opposed to past raising chicks in a covered plastic dog kennel with heat lamp. Love the room and safety of heater I bought yo go with this. Less mess and doo-dah setting it up in house with dogs and cats during cool and rainy (snowy) spring weather this year.”

“We ordered a pop up type brooder from Amazon and returned it as it was so cheaply built. The height was too low for a proper brooder as well. I saw that this brooder was more expensive but saw it was from Pet Chicken. Reading the description, I bought it. I was not disappointed. It was much, much better-built better, sturdier and the interior height was higher. The only complaint I have is the zippered side door. It is good to thread a cord through this door for the warmer, but small pieces of shavings come out this one door as there is no solid sides like all the other sides have. The smaller shavings and any other small particles go out the netting and into the floor. Also it would be so convenient to have the top door have two zippers so you can have it open from anywhere. Other than that-it’s great and when they grow out of it, I hope washing it out will be easy! It seems to fold up nicely.”
