Very pleased with the jacket. This is the fourth Percussion item bought. I have the shooting vest, the cap, the boot bag and now the Marly Jacket. All good quality and value for money.

Good jacket fits well and smart looking. Haven't tested it in the rain as of yet but it's a comfortable wear. I've had the trousers that go with it since last winter and they have done me well over the year in all weather.

It’s noisy. By that I mean the liner makes a creaking noise. The outer is like a rough cotton feeing material which is over a waterproof liner. It’s the liner that creaks. You couldn’t stalk in it that’s for sure. It could be because it is new and hasn’t been given a full soaking in the rain yet and only time will tell. Also the zip is a pain and you have to line it up perfectly in order to close the jacket. However after wearing a dozen or so times I’ve now got the knack to lining the zip up. The draw cord only draws half the jacket. It doesn’t go all the way round so it only cinches the front to side and pulls the rear part flat against your back. This does cause a bit of bunching at the front of the jacket, but as I’m going to wear it loose it won’t bother me. Finally the rear game carrier is closed by press studs only. It’s not happened to me but I do wonder if driven rain will find it’s way in and pool in the jacket. Other then those minor observations I’m incredibly pleased with the jacket for the price. For a beating and rough shoot, dog walking, gardening jacket it’s perfect. Mine had a slight manufacturing fault with on of the hand warmer pockets not being fully stitched, 5 minutes with a needle and thread and it’s sorted hence the good rating. I’m 5ft 9 with a 38 inch chest and athletic build. I brought a large because I want to wear it over a gilet when out shooting. The recommend size by new forest clothing was to go for a large and the fit is perfect. Just enough room to freely mount the gun but not too much that the jacket looks ridiculously large.

i bought this back in june so havent had a great deal of use out of it, bee wearing it more recently including today. weather is medium rain and abou 12 deg c, 40 minute walk, completely rainproof and warm enough fo just a tshirt underneath. bought primarily for dogwalking so ample pockets were a requirement which it fulfils well, the only niggle i have with it is the zip is a bit chewy, i actually thought i was going to have to return it in the first week but it got better but can still be a bit of a faff on.
