“I sent it back as I didn't realise it was a shell, not a jacket. It was a thicker, warmer shell than the one I kept, but decided to spend the extra £100 on a Deerhunter Muflon Jacket which came to day and seems great.
If you just want a warm shell, I'm sure this is fine for roughly £200.
But I got the thinner but more comfortable shell - Verney Carron Men's Perdrix Jacket! - for £80 down from £170.
So imo, if you just want a shell, get that for less than half the price.
If you want a jacket for winter get the Deer Hunter Muflon for the extra £100.
I've got both now. One for summer, one for winter. Should help keep them in good nick.
The cheaper Verney Carron shell was more comfortable than this one, too. If you just wanted a shell but wanted more warmth, I'd get that cheaper one and spend the £100 saved on a cashmere cardie.”
