“Bought this for running geology fieldwork, after years of getting frustrated with hiking style jackets. I'm really impressed with this so far. The brushed polyester provides a very light but rainproof solution which is that bit more robust to bracken and trees than some of the normal outdoor ware. Good deep pockets, decent lining, and broad enough fit that you can easily layer up for cold days standing in the wind and rain. Lovely high collar, and generous hood. The neoprene sleeves I'm a bit less sold on - I can understand their value if you're shooting, or keeping your arms up a lot for some other reason, but they only real result of them for me is that I get clammy forearms. I might just cut them out.
The real bonus here is that - as someone with short legs and a long body - this is the first coat I've had outside of 3/4 length and full length coats which I can confidently bend over in without it riding up above my bum.
Overall, big fan. Weathertightness and durability of a wax jacket while lightweight and flexible enough to replace a goretex style one. Not the most breathable on the planet, but great for cold wet days.”
“This jacket was of great quality but unfortunately I wanted a jacket for predominantly dog walking and leisure wear, I did not appreciate the design of the jacket was more of a working jacket, my fault entirely.
The jacket has huge shoulders to allow for good movement while working, swinging an axe or operating a chainsaw type of thing. I tried a couple of sizes but it was not a suitable design for me.
My dealings with NFC were totally pain free and the service was great.
I have since returned and bought my wife a Christmas present.”
