I live on Dartmoor and we get a lot of rain here. I've walked the dogs three times now in this coat when it's been absolutely tipping down and the rain just rolls off it like water off a ducks back. Its very waterproof.
The weight is a bit heavier than I expected and it's quite a thick coat, which probably makes it more suited to long walks in the autumn and winter months, but it's fine for short rainy summer dog walks.
I'm a 50 inch chest and the size guide recommended a 3XL which probably would have been ok with thick clothing underneath, but as my old coat is a 2XL that's what I ordered and it fits just fine.
It seems very well made with a good cut and loads of pockets. Only one down side...made in China.
However, I'm very impressed with this coat so far, especially as I've paid four times as much in the past for Berghaus goretex coats and this offers similar performance for a fraction of the price.
I will definitely be buying more Ridgeline products in the future and will certainly be shopping with New Forest Clothing again.”
