“Not hugely impressed, given how much money I spent. Water definitely still goes through, within an hour. Fit is good, but lining fabric is loose & has a strange dragging quality which makes it hard to put on. Sleeves catch on everything, & loose lining pulls through at the cuff. I would hesitate to buy this brand again. It’s warm, yes, but I particularly bought it to wear in the rain, but I’m still getting wet…”
“Probably the best jacket I have ever owned! I know that's quite a statement but it really ticks all the boxes. I bought this in November as I needed a better waterproof jacket for my outdoor events work. I spent 6 weeks in this coat, wearing it every evening for about 10 hours. The jacket definitely held its own when tackling the great British weather. I stood in driving rain for hours and I was completely dry, and so was the jacket. The outer layer doesn't bead water like 'normal' waterproofs but it never seemed soaking wet.
As for keeping me warm, it did a great job. I had a thermal vest and jumper under this and it was more than enough - sometimes too warm. The previous winter's work I wore 4 layers and two coats - that says it all.
The pockets on this garment are perfect, and many. They're a great size and I managed to fit my reusable coffee mug (large one), snacks, radio, and torch all in the pockets around the waist. The phone pocket is great - love the fact that I can keep it close and accessible without having to undo the coat.
The hood is so well thought-out: from the wire keeping the hood from your face, to the zip feature. It's great how the zip 'hides away' when the hood is removed and the back of the coat still looks smart, like there was never a hood attached. Nice little touch.
An amazing jacket and if this quality is the same throughout their range, I would highly recommend Ridgeline to anyone. I literally wear this jacket everywhere at the moment.
Oh - and I just want to mention (last thing, I promise) just how fantastic NFC were. I had to return the first jacket as it was too big. Returns process was straightforward and very fast. I had the replacement jacket in a few days. Excellent service and I will definitely be a returning customer.”
