“This test helped me to recognize individual bacteria species in my gut. It was shocking to discover that I was dead wrong about several species I thought I was deficient in. I noticed possible downsides in the test as well. In the premium section, it would be nice to see “healthy averages” for all bacterial species rather than averages from people who have used Ombre (who may be very sickly for all I know). It would also be nice to see down to the strain level on each bacteria listed; especially the most common gut bacteria.
The main page includes a list of bacteria I am low in but under several categories such as Lactobacillus, it says “Lactobacillus species” rather than the actual species. This does not help me narrow my problem down as many Lactobacillus do not colonize the human gut but simply pass through. Of course it would also be nice to know if I have any fungi overgrowth in my gut. Last but not least, the test was very inaccurate when it came to my overall gut health scores. In truth, I lied on my survey because I felt you should tell me if I have a health problem based on my gut bacteria and not the other way around. If you need this survey info, you should ask for it after the test is completed. Ombre's conclusion was that I have great skin health and no skin problems based upon my results. However, I have bad psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and adult acne. This is just one example of how your health based conclusions and scores are way off in my case. This may be due to poor available scientific studies.
That said, the bacteria info itself was very useful and the price was fair. Thank you all for your hard work! This test info is more valuable than any diagnostic test I have gotten from any rheumatologist or dermatologist despite any flaws. I recommend looking into upcoming probiotic technologies. MIT is about to license tech in 2023 that will allow manufacturers to put oxygen sensitive bacteria in a pill form. One company already has Akkermansia supplements, but MIT tech will allow you to put F. Prau in a pill. This tech is a game changer and could supercharge your supplement sales. The average customer is quickly wising up to the exact species they need and they will stop buying generalized probiotic mixes sooner rather than later.”
“It's almost all I hoped for, I just assumed it included yeast/fungus, so I was disapointed to learn I would have to take a different test. otherwise, it plugs in to the code a scientist worked out so that's really all I ask for :)”
