“This tool is made from soft aluminum. The problem is that bottom brackets are tightened with high torque. The large diameter 16 notch connection to the cups is not the problem, but the relatively small 1/4 square socket is almost guaranteed to jam badly, especially when trying to remove old bottom bracket cups that may require extreme force to loosen. My newly purchased tool is in bad shape after only one bottom bracket replacement. The ratchet I used for removal and the Park Tool torque wrench I used for installation twisted themselves into the soft aluminum so badly that I was barely able to extract them. At the very least, the square socket should be strengthened with a steel insert, or the whole tool made from steel.”

“Perfect for what I needed it for I bought two bikes and a set of Tannus wheels for each of them, I needed to attach the disc brakes to the new wheel sets.”

“Works well. I’m cranking over 40 n-m of torque and it holds well. Just a little paint off the nubs but no slipping and fits my torque wrench perfectly. Used to install disc brake centerlock lock ring.”
