“This spanner worked great to tighten the fixed cup of an older bottom bracket, with cup and cone caged bearings. The fixed cup needs to be very tight, or else the pedals will have a noticeable clunk. The adjustable side can then be used to fine tune the bottom bracket.”

“The HCW-4 is a solid tool, and is a much better alternative to using a adjustable crescent wrench or a plumber’s wrench or tongue and groove adjustable wrench pliers etc, the HCW-4 replaces all those tools, I will admit though I had to use an old 3/8 x 26tpi bike axle with some giant fender washers and old 3/8 x 26 tpi bike nuts or the HHP-3 to hold the tool on fitting of the Bottom Bracket, this tool along with the HHP-3 or the homemade tool I mentioned certainly helps even more. This is a great tool for any bike mechanic to have, I love it.”
