Sharp edges cut into two tubes. Sales associates will often mistakenly sell this to people attempting to repair tires for tubeless setups. these boots WILL NOT WORK to temporarily or permanently fix a damaged tire. The boot cut into my tube in less than 100 miles. Super annoying, and super useless as far as I can tell. There are tons of better options including a single dollar bill for doing what this is intented for.

It adhered well to the tyre over the cut, but after only 35 km the sharp plastic edges on the top had cut into a new inner tube and I had another flat. If you only need to ride an hour or so to get home it might be a good option, but not if you're expecting to be a long way from home. I carry motorcycle inner tube patches for this purpose, which I stick on to the inside of the tyre with vulcanising cement. I replaced the Park Tools tyre boot with one of those and had no problems with it for the rest of my trip.

Over the last few years, I can think of a couple of instances where a Park tire boot saved the ride, once for me and once for a fellow rider. But I just went through my ride tool kits on my three bikes to find a tire boot for a repair, and for each of the three I found, the adhesive would not stick to the damaged tire I was trying to temporarily fix. I see a question about how long they list, and the answer from Park was something like "a few years" or "three years" depending on how they were stored. I don't know how long my tire boots were stored (didn't date them!), but I do know now that they would not have worked if they had been needed out on the road.

doesn't work. I had a small flat so I decided to head down to my local bike shop to get a patch/boot/etc. They only had this so I decided to try it. I was almost finished with getting the tire on the rim before I realized that this patch didn't stick to the (completely dry) tire. I got the second one from this kit and attached it, this time it seemed like it stuck. I seated the tire (with a floor pump, not a fun time) and inflated it to realize that the exact spot that I attempted to patch was still leaking. Waste of an hour and a lot of work.

Sorry to hear about the problem. Did you use this on the inner tube? These are intended only as a boot for the tire body. If there is a rip in the tire, it will work to cover it and allow the tube to be inflated. These are not advertised or intended for the inner tube however.

I used them a lot when I was riding fixed gear and skidding a lot. Sometime the last skid would open a hole in the tire, the tube would pop out and explode. I would then change the tube, patch the tire with often just a half of a TP-1 and ride home like nothing happened. You need to buy a new tire, this only allows you to ride back home. Basically all i needed was a 15mm wrench, a small pump, a tube, and some tp-1 (a mix of half and full).
