I bought this torque wrench as a Christmas gift for my dad. He has a couple carbon-framed bikes in his fleet, so I thought he should have a torque wrench to properly tighten anything that fastens to the frames.

First time I used this on a Crank Bros dropper remote I stripped the screw...I think it was more because the remote was made of softer aluminum but the screw was specced to 2.5 Nm and so I thought the socket would have caught it. No issues otherwise

We are having a gas around the shop with this tool, discovering just how imprecise our supposedly "trained" hands are when it comes to hitting the manufacturers' torque settings. It is not as handy as the ATD 1.2 "T Handle" torque driver, but the setting range is much wider and the traditional socket-wrench style works better on higher-torque applications like crank-arm fixing bolts. Two things to note: first, to mount or remove a socket, you have to push a release button on the back of the head, just above the right-left ratchet toggle switch. It's not in the instructions. Second, unlike the ATD "T-Handle" series torque drivers that release with a definite "pop" and go limp, this wrench hits its torque setting with a gentle "ping". If you are gorilla-wrenching it, you can miss the release and blow the setting. Much more than the ATDs, which are the busy mechanic's friend, this is a finesse tool that really can't be hurried.
