“Great solution at a great price
I'm very happy with this charger, it has definitely eased my home charging anxiety. Before this purchase it took about 26 hours to fully charge my Leaf. It takes about 8 hours now to put a full charge on the battery. My charging situation is probably a little different than a lot of homes, I'm able to run the 50 foot cord from my car and through my house to the utility closet where the washer and dryer sit. I'm lucky that the 220 outlet sits right above the dryer, so its easy to unplug the dryer and plug in the charger. So I had no extra expenses for adding level-2 charging for this awesome car. The only thing I can't do is dry clothes and charge my car at the same time, I just have to remember to put plastic on my car seat if I'm wearing wet clothes.”
“A great value
I had a previous large wall charger that had worked for years and suddenly no longer worked and I had paid almost $1000 for it. It required a 30 amp 220v circuit. Most of the new wall mounted ones require at least 40 amps which would mean a large expense to up grade. I found this one that required less than than a 30 amp circuit. This unit is much small and works very well and only takes a few minutes longer than my previous one to fully charge you vehicle. the only issues #1 I ordered it with the 30A plug and it came with a 50A plug so I had to change the receptacle.
#2 sometimes it is difficult to remove the charger from the vehicle.”
“Custom cord lengths... very handy!
This was one of the most inexpensive chargers available... not fancy, but it gets the job done. I have tried it in both 120v Level 1 mode (with an adapter) and 240v level 2 mode, it seems to work great in both. There is a nice, tight fit in the charging port, and the latch mechanism seems more sturdy than my other charger. The best feature to me, though... is that they offer it in different cord lengths so you can get just the right distance between your outlet and the car without paying for a lot of extra cord or having to park a specific way to make it reach. Nice!”
“High quality and does just what it should
I bought this to plug my Chevy Volt into a 240 my neighbor had installed to charge his Tesla. There is just not a lot to say. It's sturdy and high quality, plugs in and removes easily from both the car and the outlet. The cord is good and long so you have some latitude in how close you need to park to the outlet. Does exactly what you buy it to do.
(Update) On further thought...a month later, and it is working just fine. I realize that getting charging accessories for your EV can be somewhat nerve-wracking--especially for those of us who support the technology, but are not complete EV nerds, and simply want it to work. I am always nervous that the support equipment I buy is built properly and won't cause damage to, or completely ruin, the car or the charge point. This charger has worked perfectly.”
“Great Charger at a Great Price!
This was purchased for my grandson's 2012 Chevy Volt. The Level 1 charger worked okay, but kept overheating on the plug, so we decided to get a Level 2 Charger that could be plugged into their dryer 220 plug. It charges in only a few hours compared to the overnight charge of the Level 1 Charger. So far so good. Seams to be made well, we bought the 50 ft. and have plenty of extra cord. Feel much safer using it on a line dedicated to only the 220 Volt (no pun intended), with no other electrical being used on that breaker. The dealership wanted $500 for the same type charger, so Amazon's price was great and even had a $25 off coupon.”
“Worth every penny!
I purchased a Nissan Leaf recently and researched the charging options plenty. This was a great price on a Level 2 charger and an easy way to install it. We found that our Dryer was close to the driveway behind our house and rather then install an entire new line from the fuse box we ran this instead. Now, we just unplug the dryer when we are not using and plug in the car. We were able to run the line through the same hole the dryer vent is going through in our basement and now I have a level 2 charger. I have a full charge every night now, typically, before I even go to sleep it will be done. This is the best price and works as it should. It is a huge difference over the trickle charger.”
“Works perfectly, excellent company to deal with
I can strongly recommend Primecom and their offering of vehicle chargers. I ordered the Level-2 EV, 14-50P, 30 feet, 16A and although the charger worked perfectly, the length wasn't exactly what I needed for our unique setup at our house.
