“I can't tell you how many flowy style shorts I've wasted money on. These were the answer to my activewear prayer. They are light and flowy without having an excess of material and they sit just right on the waist. True to size, as well. LOVE these!”
“So most people say to size down in these. For ptula bare line I wear size xs. My waist is 27-28” and hips 39”. I got a small in these and the waist fits nicely, it’s a bit snug but I also was bloated trying it on. What I don’t like is the fabric kind of poofs out just under the waist but then is still sorta tight around my hips so overall I think these shorts aren’t for everyone. Also fabric isn’t as nice as I expected.”
“So I'm a "smedium" and always buy active shorts in a medium based on personal preference and my big booty. I expect some looseness in the waist as a result and that's no problem. But with these, the mediums were absolutely huge on me. I tried to wear them anyway because they're so beautiful and I love the concept, but they're just too big. Definitely get your smaller size if in between!”
Hi Morgan, thank you for the information on the sizing of the Flow Short. Perhaps you can exchange them? Have you reached out to support@ptulaactive.com?

“Overall, I love these shorts. They are the shorts of my dreams, for someone who is 5’4 and on the curvier side. I’ve never been able to wear running shorts because running shorts always ride up no matter how long or baggy they are. But the Flow shorts are magical. They are super soft and comfortable, the perfect amount of baggy, and don’t ride up! The downside… the waist band. It is too tight. I have no issues with the length but the waist band squeezes my waist/belly and really gives meaning to the name “muffin top”. Haha. Really hope Ptula considers fixing the sizing of the waist band and keeps these shorts around cause they are a staple.”
Angee, thank you so much for the feedback on the Flow Short. We will take this into consideration. We are so glad to hear that they work in every other way for you. 😊

“Overall nice shorts. I sized up as recommended by many of Ptulas athletes. I agree they run a bit on the small side, in the waist only. There is plenty of room in the butt/thighs. I think you could even go up 2 sizes if you have a long torso, mainly because they don't quite come up to your natural waist without some crotch seam invasion. If they were higher rise and actually met the smallest part of my waist it would be less of an issue. Length and fabric are very nice. Pockets are a plus. Overall I like them, they're just not perfect for my body type.”
“I really want to love them. I like that they are higher on my waist and sit a little longer on my butt compared to the training shorts. The only thing that bugs me is that elastic band bunches in the waist and folds in the fabric which makes it uncomfy to fix and just looks odd sometime. I have an average length torso but my hips are about 38in and a 27.5 waist so i get a medium.”
Hi Hailea! We appreciate the review and feedback of our Flow Shorts. Our hope was to offer a higher rise version of our Training short last year and with hopes of our new waistband not digging in on our customers. We appreciate your thoughts on them! - The Ptula Team
