“These window fasteners are extremely poorly fabricated. I started installing on my 1960s timber windows as there is not many other options on the market, and after using a couple of times the hinge pin starts to pull through the mounted base making the lever completely loose to the point you cannot secure your window fastened closed, and they are not fit for purpose. I had a fitter and turner friend show me how to modify and make these usable, but with 23 to do I have not yet got around to it and stopped installing them.”
“Mechanism works well enough, but the black has faded rapidly (less than 2 years and it looks quite grey) and the screws are such poor quality the heads snapped off while inserting even with pre-drilling, pre-inserting a steel screw to cut a thread and then trying to screw in the supplied screw carefully by hand. My advice is get some real screws and spraypaint them - don't use the supplied ones, same goes for several other products purchased from here.”
