“I swapped my Pure for a new PureOne because the battery was functioning poorly (it was 5+ years old) although the unit itself was functioning well when connected to a power source in the car.
The first job was to transfer the existing subscription to the new Pure one. That could not be done online and required a phone call to Road Angel - the guy at RA connected me OK, but it would have been easier if it could have been done online.
The new PureOne is much less flexible that the old Pure, there are many fewer options for setting it up. There are NO good instructions about what the symbols or terms mean: Cautious?? etc. ?? Instructions need to be much much better. I found it so unclear and unhelpful that I considered returning the Pureone and reverting to the old Pure. Get your instructions dummy tested!!
The option of bold or normal display does NOT work, there is only Bold display when toggling through with the on off switch. Should I return the PureOne because of this fault
The female voice is much less clear that the Pure, it needs considerable improvement.
What is the point of the screen protector?
I am not sure also that Road Angel is keeping up with speed limit changes - it used to be very good and up to date, now I am encountering many places where it is wrong, even with the latestuograde of information.
Althogether an unimpressive and sloppy "up"grade. It feels like the accountants / managers have had too much influence and rushed the job and the designers too little!!”
“After a few days the display packed up and I had to return the device for repair. The unit was returned to me and it worked for one trip and then packed up again. This time, when it was trying to connect to the satellites it would keep restarting. Returned it again.”
