“After an excellent purchasing and initial set up experience with Donna unfortunately some dissatisfaction followed. Technical issues are difficult to get resolved and I still have one outstanding. Also considering you pay a subscription the database is not up to date. The unit works but is no where near as good as advertised and expected.”
“Brand new device, followed setup instructions. Worked for 1 week and had to send back for repair. Device doesn't have a battery so requires direct power supply. Every morning when I turn the car on the device shows not enough power to it - unlug and reconnect and is fine. Device also takes time to find and connect to the satelites - can take up to 15 mins.”
“I have 2 road angels now . One for each car , thought I could run them both off my £200 subscription, how silly was I . Netflix , sky, Disney plus all have a pay once subscription and use on multiple devices . Here at road angel they want £200 for each road angel device. Absolute Greed”
“Find it not as good as the Pure l used before.
Takes a long while to begin to operate placed in exactly the same position as the Pure. Have had to move it into several positions on the dashboard until found the best spot. No idea whose Blue Sky thinking it was to move the power supply from the base unit as in the Pure to the rear if the Pure1 but it makes moving it into an ideal position nearly impossible”
“The voice is very weak. Both male and female. It need so be louder and more clipped.
Like the fact that it closes when very short vehicle movement is carried out.
Sometimes slow to access the various satellites.
Occasionally get a speed of 525mph that does not settle until the vehicle has stopped and the engine turned off.
10% above speed does not settle to a black screen even when going back to that speed.
Not an improvement from the previous Road Angel - apart from the possible longer battery charge.
The connection in the back of the Road Angel itself, rather than the base unit is very irritating as it is not as easy to take out of the car when it may need charging.
Overall, some improvements, but not a game changer.”
“My previous Road Angel was stolen and as I had been so pleased with it I bought the latest updated version to replace it, once ordered delivery was quick but every thing went down hill after that. I followed the install instructions to the letter but was dogged by an error message on the screen informing me the i SSID is empty and I therefore could not progress any further with the set up, I contacted Customer Support who told me there is no WiFi on the new model (I know) and suggested I press the rest button on the rear, the message sometimes reappears but now goes away after I turn the unit on and off again (that old IT Chestnut). I was under the impression that one could change the screen on the unit to a less cluttered screen but I found this does not work either, Customer Support agreed there are three different screens and you toggle between them using the left side button (I knew this) so Customer Support suggested that, you guessed it press the reset button or my favourite turn it off and wait for it, turn it back on again, sad to say this has not worked so I am stuck with the Bold numbers and cluttered Icons screen except for those occasions that the unit randomly turns itself off and I am left with a blank screen which can only be overcome by unplugging from the power socket and plugging back in again a sort of IT thing but one does'nt have to turn it off as it does that for you, you just have to turn it on again. Now I should mention finding satellites can sometimes be an issue in that it just does'nt find any and searches for ages in fact I've completed some trips of over an hour and still no joy, admittidly I have not contacted Customer Support on this one! after all I know how to reset and turn the unit on and off now.”
“Slower to change to allowed road speeds,so still getting used to it.will not load , I continuously have to reset .very frustrating and to rub salt in the wound was reduced by £100 .Very disappointing”
