“I purchased two handheld GMRS radios for road trips with friends (in other cars) and being able to walk about properties spanning 25-30 acres while still communicating with other people. The radio has been - so far - clear (except when other people use the same frequency - change the channel) and good battery life. I have since augmented with larger-capacity batteries and intend to use when traveling with friends in other cars outside of the U.S. when we don't anticipate being able to rely on cell phones. I've also purchased a GMR45 for my truck to significantly increase transmission range and can't wait to see the dramatic improvement in performance over greater distances.”

“Great little radio when out of the vehicle! Never have to worry about it. Battery life is good and lots of accessories. Can also code RX/TX separately for expert repeater users and monitor 2 channels simultaneously so that is excellent! Only issue is up/down arrows keep reversing in order of moving within channels but could be fixed with firmware upgrade.”
