Hi Alan, Unfortunately, the kit you purchased does come with a mount that is designed for a metal roof. However, we do have a solution for you! The UNI-MAG mounting plate provides a magnetic surface for vehicles with alloy, plastic, or fiberglass roofs. “The installation was straight forward and easy. The mounting bracket for the antenna was missing but a call to the manufacturer got that cleared up pretty quickly. Our first test in the field was pretty good, we will try again now that the proper antenna mounts have arrived. I’m not sure that the range in the mountains are going to be more than a mile but hopefully I’m wrong.”

“This kit does not come with everything needed for setup. If you install the kit per the instructions, your battery will die every day. The radio draws power even when it is powered off. You need to install a rocker switch so you can actually break the connection to the battery when you are done for the day. Must be something funky in the circuitry that keeps drawing so much power. Seems silly that they don't include the rocker switch with the kit. Nobody in their right mind would want to deal with a dead battery every time they go to fire up their machine. Now another $40 and wait for the part to arrive. Very frustrating after paying so much for the kit in the first place.”

“Great radio, very loud and clear when transmitting. Do wish the frequencies was able to be seen on the screen but once you get used to the channel naming it’s pretty easy. Will buy another if needed.”
