“I upgraded from the 696 to the STX. Power was the same plug and didn't require any changes, the headset jacks had to be replaced though. Which was fine, my old cables were the problem with the 696. I am blown away at the difference. It's more than just taking the older intercom and adding stereo. The EQ lets me adjust it to my liking. The STX headsets are more comfortable and block out more noise compared to my old Alpha Base headsets. And the amp is far better. Previously, I would need to have the tablet volume up to around 80%, the intercom at 80% and the headset turned almost all the way up to get it loud enough when running fast. With the STX everything is at about 50% and plenty loud. And the music is just better, crisper, and more defined highs and lows. Communications over the radio are nice and clear too.”
