“Worked great and I've installed the toggle switch in my mounting plate, which I installed in my center consol. I could not find a holder at any of the local auto parts stores. The toggle swiches used to have a holder with the switch”

“My original thought for this antenna was to keep in place basically just instead of getting an NMO cap since I can't get my Jeep into the garage with my longer antenna on but I have been very surprised by the performance this little antenna is able to get. On the jeep it's tucked behind the spare tire on the back which is not great placement but I am still getting what I consider to be remarkable range out of it.”

“Can I remove the silver clawed piece from the underside of the cage mounting tab? This antenna pin is higher up in the base and I don’t think that it is screwing down enough to make contact on the NMO mount. There is about a 1/8 of an inch difference in depth between the 1/4 wave short antenna my radio came with and the 1/2 wave I purchased.”

“After posting about the plastic cover NMO cap on Instagram, Haley over at rugged radios messaged me about the GMRS / UHF Stealth Low Profile antenna. This antenna still lets me use my radio but at close range. The plastic cap just covered my NMO with no purpose or function. So I’ll be rocking this during my work week or if I feel like being stealth. Thank you rugged radios team!”

“I would recommend this for use as a mag mount antenna, however I would suggest to get the race series antenna cable for mounting through a metal roof or anything besides the mag mount setup. It will work for the other mounting, but I had an issue with it being hard to snug up and it's not quite as durable as the race version. Yes the race version costs more but spend the money and get it done right if mounting to a roof. If you're using this as a mount for a chase vehicle or jeep or whatever, get it. If you're racing on a budget, splurge or over extend yourself and get the race antenna. You'll thank me later!”
