What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? this kit really sparked student interest. It got them talking about and with their own whanau about Tupuna who went to war. I had great feedback and support from whanau who were so happy to see their children interested in learning about their ancestors
Sorry it has taken so long to write this review but we kind of got lost in this amazing research. Thanks so much for putting this valuable resource together. We enjoyed exploring websites and connecting with these amazing soldiers. This unit sparked a lot of discussion about the children’s own Tupuna that went to war. So leading on from this we embarked on our own research around our whanau members who Served. It was so rewarding seeing the children so excited and proud talking about their brave whanau.

This was my second year using this kit with my classroom, and I've loved how it lends itself to such a wide-range of variation. My students are very arty, and so combined this unit with an art project using collage and also stop motion. A fantastic resource year after year.

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? Increased engagement because students were not able to get off task- they had so much to do and some of the tasks were quite complex. I will definitely be reusing these resources for next year. Thank you so much!
I thought this kit was really though provoking and my students jumped straight into it. It was quite difficult to scaffold based on the differing tasks but I modelled with one artefact and this helped some of those students out. They loved the fact that they each got something specific to only the. Excellent quality artefacts. I would love to send you some photos of the kids work if you would be interested! What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? The involvement of all students with various tasks. The authentic resources encouraged engagement and discussion which lead to good self directed learning.
Fabulous unit with amazing resources that engaged every learner. Easily adaptable. The links were great and very thought provoking. Having a range of year 4/5 students I initially thought it would be too advanced for them but they enjoyed exploring different aspects, especially discussing the different case studies.

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? Loved the variety of information available and could be accessed by anyone no matter the students level. Being actual replicas of artefacts really got them excited. To be able to hold and touch.
Our group of classes have used the kit to develop their own websites about the Soldiers using Google Sites. We gave them a ";tasting session"; of all the artefacts and then they got to choose which one they want to research further. Parents are being invited in to see the website, read our writing about ";Walking with the ANZACs"; in the trenches and what our hope is for future generations.

The kids loved it! Loved exploring the resources and writing about what caught their interest. Other classes in our school were able to use it as well!

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? students were keen to share what their whanau had shared with them - more of an oral approach to the toolkit.
Was a great resource that when I ordered I had a Y5/6 class but ended up simplifying some for my new Y4/5 class.
