What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? Engagement in this topic was already high but when the students started researching from their artifact the were talking like they knew the person. ";Did you know ... had a sister and a brother";... ";Did you know that ... died aged ..."; etc. It helped t
I loved this kit. The posters were fantastic with so much interest generated from discussions. The artifacts made learning real, again sparking discussion. The resources on line were simply amazing. The depth and variety was so helpful in motivating the students, bringing the past to life. Thank you School Kit :)

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? They were really engaged. Because it was REAL and they could handle an artifact it hooked them in.
The kit was awesome. When I opened the bag and file of artifacts the students were hooked. They added a different dimension. I worked with a Year 9 class and they researched together in pairs to find out about their ANZAC soldier. The website was incredibly easy to navigate and interesting for the students. They struggled reading the hand written text on the documents but definitely learnt some good research skills along the way.

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? Students were fully engaged in the research of the items they were given and the soldiers they came across. Many couldn't believe how young some men were and that overall not alot of them had survived. I think it really related to some who have older sibl
My students loved this kit! Despite only 3 out of 22 students in my class attending an Anzac service we had great discussions and learning around war, soldiers, poppies and Gallipoli and many were amazed by the information they researched about each of the soldiers.

This was an extremely engaging kit for all of my tamariki. They loved looking at the various artefacts and learning the stories behind them. For my tamariki they enjoyed researching about the soldier's behind the artefacts. A fantastic resource, that I will use again.

What an amazing resource. Although my children are Year 3 and 4, they all had a fabulous time discovering more about the soldiers. It opened up their eyes to the fact that the people going to war had a back story, they were not just a number on a sheet. But they were each a person who made a huge sacrifice for their country. In the modern day world of ";its all about me and what I can get out of it"; the children learnt what giving to others meant.

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? Students were fully engaged in this resource kit. They just loved the items and finding out about them. They loved it so much that they wanted to spend longer on it. We are going to use it again next year to start off our Social Studies program in Year 8.
This resource was fantastic to use with our Year 8 Students. We used it at the start of 2019 as an introduction to Social Studies and it had the students hooked right from the start. We did adapted some activities a little bit to suit our students.

This box was absolutely fantastic! It really helped to enhance our learning around ANZAC and WW1. It created a fun and technological approach to our inquiry and it enabled each of my students to take charge of their own learning. Thanks so much for once again creating an awesome classroom and learning resource!

What did you notice about student engagement in the learning with the Walking with an ANZAC kit? Following our inquiry, we visited our local museum to learn about the local Anzac heroes. We took part in a special Anzac Assembly and we engaged in the poem writing and poppy art as an extension, too.
My year 3 &; 4 students really enjoyed discovering the contents of the box and following the link to the website. Some of them accessed the website www.walkingwithananzac.co.nz in their own time as well as at school. They shared the learning with their whanau, too.
